Hey everyone my name is Keith I'm from NY. I just recently heard Duffy. I saw her on the CBS morning show about a month ago and I haven't been able to stop I'm addicted. I have been watching everything I can find on her. I think she is amazing and can't wait till I can see her live. I was thinking since she wrote these songs, comming from a small place if her new writtings are gunna change with all the exposure she is getting touring all over the world. anyway what do you think?

Seemingly Duffy recorded 50 songs as part of the Rockferry project, so I guess that quite a lot of her new stuff will really be her old stuff.  This new single she is promising to release "Rain on your Parade" was written post-fame, so that should give us an idea of where her songwriting is going.  It's exciting finding new Duffy songs.  The tracks from her Swiss project when she was 17/18 are appearing on the web and of course "Enough Love" has just come out.

 not to mention the few songs she's done with Mint Royale's Album. you say your from New York? Duffy is actually performing there at Webster Hall on the 22nd

I no I really want to go but I'm not sure if I'm gunna make it. I'm from the long Island, not that that's would stop me from going into the city. I really do wanna go though

 I've been to her concert before. She's alot better live than on the CD. if anything, you got to see her at least once in your lifetime =D

I love seeing live shows and plan on seeing her as many times as she plays in my area. I see your pics very nice, where and when was that?

how did u hear about her?

 I was wikipediaing around like what other countries are listening to as their number 1 song. This was like around mid february. In the UK, Mercy was like number one on the charts so i wanted to hear it. After i listened to it, i didn't like it at first, but it was an addictive track. after a week or so, it grew on me and i showed my friends and around april or so, I heard Warwick Avenue. After that, I liked her style of music, bought her album and well, she's my favorite music artist now lol

Is she really not big in america then? Its weird cos her album still went to number 4, and she seems to spend so much time there.

not really. actually, the concert i was at wasn't even sold out for her but it did for, god help me, Flobots =/ 

In Europe, you have to remember that many countries are the same size roughly as U.S. States are. The U.S. is large and the music scene is quite fragmented into many genre's - Duffy's style isn't a shoehorn fit into quite any one of those musical styles, it is a blend of modern and a few retro sounds that is unique unto itself. Additionally, 95% of U.S. radio & T.V. stations are owned by just a few corporations owned by a few people. Most people I talk to here have never yet even heard of Duffy, and the younger crowd watches much less TV - they'd have to find her online. She is beginning to catch on, and a lot of that by word of mouth. You must remember, her first album was just released this year. By this time next year, she is going to be MUCH more well-known in the U.S. - that I'm sure of. No one I've introduced to her music dislikes it in the least. The only difficulty she might find is with the rap/hip-hop crowd.

you have a point Dan, her album did just release this year. So debuting at 4 in the US (I think), was pretty darn amazing itself. 

like I said I only heard of her about a month ago, I was watching the morning news CBS and I saw her on there play mercy then warwick ave. I would have never of heard her yet if she wasn't on there. I told my daughter about her and she really likes her to, she said I think I heard her before, and she did on Entourage. Peace,
