Lester is my younger brother, born 1942, who was a ';trainee' in the family company. From 1959 to 1961 I was in the RAF after qualifying as a chartered accounrtant. I subsequently worked for a large firm of chartered accountants until 1963 when I joined the family company. I met and visited Joe during his involvement with the family. He was paid about £20 per week. At that time I was earning, as a qualified chartered accountant, £950 per annum in the profession - his pay was quite good for the period. The initial finance source from Joe and my father was not sufficient to support the creation of the Holloway Road Studio and ancilliary equipment as well as the running costs. Quite a lot of money was put in to the business but not entered into the books in order to bolster the accounts. Do not forget that RGM Sound which looked as though Major Banks did not finance it was in fact financed by Major Banks not William Barrington Coupe whose name was used.
