She said she's leaning away from her retro 60's sound and more towards a Madonna-like style. But hell, she's talented enough to make another Grammy-Award winning Album.

Duffy looks great in all of her videos. The entire company did an excellent top rate job in every video. She has the potential of all the greatest performers in history. I particularly like the look in her Rain on Your Parade video. Like my Grandpa used to say, "She has legs that go all the way to Heaven"! Smile

Madonna? Really? I thought she would always be R&B soul! I hope its not totally different. But I support her no matter what she does!

    Re: new cd

I'm not writing this to brag, however, I have completed all the courses in college for a degree in Media, Mass Communications, Computer Science, Imaging, Marketing, Management, Internet Marketing, Journalism and have two other minors in astronomy and cultural anthropology and am willing to prove this to the right people. I'm also a consultant here in America in Northern California for many businesses and am nicknamed Golden Thumbs by many of my closest friends and colleagues because everything I touch seems to turn to gold. I've helped many people start various businesses and have seen them make fortunes overnight in some cases. So I hope maybe what I have to say would be of some value anyway...... Duffy's success I believe is partly or mostly due to the fact that her overall impression is completely unique. Shania Twain is also a great example of how a artist can recreate oneself in many different forms which makes them very unique for each song, ballet, etc. I believe this is what will put Duffy right up there or even higher than other female musical artists. Duffy has the perfect look that's easy to recreate and shows a completely unique side to each track. If this wonderful form of reinvention continues, and her private life is kept completely under raps for now, I believe she is already considered a Queen of her own style of many styles with just as much appeal as what's given to Madonna or any other artist. I also suggest she works on this and resists taking on the look of any other artist but rather build on her own unique look for each track. What made all the others before her so famous as well is the use of costumes for performances rather than just a shin high dress or street clothes for smaller performances. I don’t believe there should be any room for the casual look here save maybe for the music with the more sixties look but costumes are very important, expensive but very important. Build on what works now.For instance, the Rain on Your Parade song was completely unique, sexy, had all the best qualities of any track produced by other artists, and gave a permanent impression of Duffy's more sexual side which one of the most important things for marketing. Duffy has every quality in every way for new unique ideas.I noticed on YouTube there was a video going around for a while showing Duffy's Rain on Your Parade track mixed in with James Bond together which I found very appealing. This is just another example of how well Duffy blends in for most any situation and gives a new and refreshing look while keeping focused on what the theme is about while giving the highest quality there is out there today. Duffy is five stars without a doubt. I recommend a world tour that includes the Americas especially. It would be overwhelming at first for the team but a rare chance to make it as big as any other artist in history because Duffy is so unique. What are most important are her voice and music sounds great live or on CD which many bands just don't sound the same in person, while Duffy has the quality to sound and look great live or on CD. Duffy is already right up there with Madonna and any other artist in history including Jackson especially if she continues with her own unique style and will consider world tours.

OMG! Just caught a repeat of SNL (obviously the "one" that I missed) and caught Duffy. I was hooked from the first beat.

I haven't purchased a cd since 1992. I will be purchasing this one tomorrow.

I hope Duffy keeps that sound and just keeps improving on the instrumentals.

    Re: new cd

I'm trying to find the SNL episode online now so I can watch it. I don't use conventional TV anymore since I created a new type of invention that allows me to connect to 3G from anywhere in the world. I'm able to watch pretty much any episode of any show every made online through many various sites like HULU and VIOH, and many other networks who cater to those like me who have discovered the inner universe we call the Internet.

I'm so glad for Duffy in that she seems to be at a point now where her fame will explode worldwide which already has happened thanks to the media and Internet. I agree that if she refines her songs with extra things such as costumes, the dancers get better over time and the team works together like a swiss clock, Duffy will absolutely become one of history's brightest stars. It's very difficult for anyone to adjust and isn't bar far as easy as people believe.

I've had a few chances to act in major motion pictures in the past but my fate always held that some major event prevented me from being able to show up on the set when I was asked by the directors, producers who wanted to hire me. Someone I considered to be a stepson was killed the morning of my second big chance. The first chance I had was destoyed by someone I thought was my wife but was so jealous she purposely interfered and caused me to lose the fist big chance I had.  I didn't want this to happen again and was since afraid of being in the public light because of the complications invvolved. I also wouldn't doubt that Elvis and a few others actually faked their deaths because it's so tiring to be famous for a long period of time.

Duffy has everything it takes to be on the very top like Modonna and Elvis and I'm sure with time will continue to grow into her own universe.

It's so nice just to sit back, watch and appreciate that something so wonderful can happen to someone so wonderful.

I always like Phil's posts on here. and, I feel bettter knowing I'm not the only "beyond 20s" type so into Duffy. Phil if you think Duffy is sexy on the "Rain On Your Parade" video, check out "Stepping Stone." I like just about all the songs on Rockferry and I know her new CD is just gonna blow the roof off.

I'm not sure what's happening with the new CD .... originally it was hinted that Duffy had lot's of songs unreleased from Rockferry - she seemingly wrote 50 songs for Rockferry - to fill a second album.  Now it looks as if she is writing entirely new stuff.

Can she get away with another bad relationship dominated album?  I guess she will have to mix it up a bit, a couple of up-tempo numbers perhaps.  Maybe Duffy will write some social relevance type songs like she did in her Soulego days when she admited "I just compose from the daily news."

I'm not at all religious but I do believe there's some kind of muse out there and that Duffy is channeling it, I don't think she's ever written a bad song.  If the muse is still with her the second album will be fine.

I hope she's not waiting too long to come out w/ this new CD. I think, just a personal opinion, she needs to get this on the shelves in time for Christmas, probably no way for that though. Elvis and Beatles records sold like hotcakes during that time of year, uhhh, not that I'd be old enough to remember those days, of course. cough cough.

I hope she doesn't move to far away from her unique style....moving towards a Madonna sound, does not sit right with me...Duffy is my favourite singer by far and I have never owned an album that I love so much!  Please dn't leave it too long before the next album/tour....its already been soooo long!
